Evernote note deletion involves more steps than simply clicking delete because deleted notes remain in the Evernote Trash until permanently removed, users can restore deleted notes, empty the entire trash bin, customize the sidebar to make Trash easier to access, delete up to 100 notes at once, and export notes as ENEX or HTML before permanent deletion, making it important to understand Evernote Trash, note recovery, permanent deletion, ENEX export, and backup options before removing important information.

  • Deleted Evernote notes first move to the Trash instead of being permanently removed.
  • Evernote Trash syncs across devices, so deleted notes are removed from your account everywhere.
  • You can delete individual Evernote notes through the More Actions menu.
  • You can select and delete multiple Evernote notes at the same time.
  • Evernote currently limits multiple-note selection to 100 notes at once.
  • Deleted notes can be restored from the Evernote Trash before permanent deletion.
  • You can permanently delete one note or empty the entire Evernote Trash.
  • Permanently deleted Evernote notes cannot be recovered through Evernote.
  • You can customize the Evernote sidebar to make the Trash easier to access.
  • You can export deleted notes as ENEX or HTML before permanently deleting them.
